From: "motoadve" It had happened twice, once landing on grass strip that transitions to pavement, the nose wheel got back in the air a bit and when it touched down, got lots of vibration, whole plane shaking. Second time I did a landing and bounced, (short field and wanted to be down before I should , had too much energy) when it touched down again lots of vibration, whole plane shaking. Both times I thought I had a flat tire. Take offs , no vibration , and regular landings no vibration, seems to be the nose wheel does not likes to come back up in the air because the second time it touches down generates a lot of vibration. Any ideas what causes this (apart from lousy landing ) :) -------- www.Backcountry182.com Cessna 182 P CJ -6 Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=496160#496160 ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 07:36:04 AM PST US From: Larry Pine Subject: Re: Yak-List: Shimmy vibration? Could be several things: Linkage worn Scissors worn Splined shaft (in damper) sheared Damper needs overhauled My guess is that the splined shaft is sheared. I have o/h kits and new splined shafts if you discover you need them.
