Thank you for the photos of the membrane showing the "hook". I recently purchased the two membranes for my carb on my M14P and that is on the winter maintenance list for 2020. My membrane did not come with the hook shown in your photos. I assume that the hook is transferred from the old membrane to the new one.? I also plan to replace the membrane on the top of the carb as well. Thanks Mark Pennington M14P powered CJ Driver. <https://www.avast.com/sig-email?utm_medium=email&utm_source=link&utm_campaign=sig-email&utm_content=webmail&utm_term=icon> Virus-free. www.avast.com <https://www.avast.com/sig-email?utm_medium=email&utm_source=link&utm_campaign=sig-email&utm_content=webmail&utm_term=link> <#DAB4FAD8-2DD7-40BB-A1B8-4E2AA1F9FDF2> On Tue, Aug 11, 2020 at 1:32 AM Yakjumper <tobias@macnews.de> wrote: > > The membrane also seals the carb cover. Yes, you do reuse nuts&washers which are in the old membrane. You need a new cotter pin. The case cover might be a bit hard (sticky) to remove, pry it only a little. You need to unhook it from the rest before you can remove it. Remember the orientation of the hook assembly. The membrane has plenty of holes, make sure is the right side when installing. Securing everything with safety wire afterwards is a bit tight & challenging. I have never seen the second membrane in the carb. Had the carb of my second Yak O/H at Termikas (was clogged), they told me that there are 2 membranes. Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=497646#497646

Thank you. I will pay attention as I take the covers off. I will re use the hook on the old membrane etc. I will be taking my carb off making it easier to safety wire things. The top membrane can not be changed with the carb on the plane. I have attached a photo showing the position of both membranes. Thanks you again for the info. =F0=9F=91=8D Mark Pennington On Tue, Aug 11, 2020 at 12:00 PM Yakjumper <tobias@macnews.de> wrote: > > > Yes, you do reuse nuts&washers which are in the old membrane. I forgot to give credit for the attached photo. The photo was sent out by Richard Goode showing the position and what needs to be removed for each membrane. Thank you Richard. =F0=9F=91=8D Mark Pennington On Tue, Aug 11, 2020 at 12:00 PM Yakjumper <tobias@macnews.de> wrote: > > > Yes, you do reuse nuts&washers which are in the old membrane. The accelerator pump membrane (carb top) is the one I was confused about and I do agree that it doesn't look like it can be replaced while the carb is installed. Richard seems to think otherwise though. Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=497664#497664

The only way that I see that would be possible is if the nuts were removed and the studs removed. Slide the top off. ? Maybe. ? Open for an education. Has anyone done this before ?
