Well, for those of you who could be interested in these posters, have
done
the sums, but do need to have a significant amount of definite orders to
make sense! The main points are:
For those who didn't see the photos attached above, these are poor
photographs which have then been scanned. The originals are much higher
quality and full colour. There are 21 posters in total.
The original size is 3 foot times 2 foot (900 mm times 600 mm). But it
seems
that it would be very expensive to print to that size, so I obtained a
quotation to print at 2'4"=D71'8" (700 mm times 500 mm). These are still
substantial, and I suspect not many people are going to have sufficient
wall
space to mount all of them! But obviously full colour and glossy.
The work would then involve scanning each of the posters; printing them;
collating into groups of 21; purchasing appropriate cardboard tubes;
putting
the posters inside the tubes. So, ignoring postal charges, I would need
to
sell 75 sets of posters at =A375 (GBP) (Euro 84; US $98) to make any
sense of
the work that would be involved. It is worth saying that the Yakovlevs
team
here in the UK have approximately 15 from the original sets that we
manufactured, and are asking =A3150 a set ' so precisely double, but
of course
in the original size.
I'm copying this to Jeremy there and anyone who wants to deal directly
with
him ' that is absolutely fine. Or if you would like the slightly
smaller
ones please let me know, and let us see if sufficient numbers of people
are
interested!

Although a few people have already written to me saying that they would
like
posters, could I suggest an alternative which, being very frank, would
suit
me better given that we are incredibly busy at the moment. Also, since
we
have been sending copies of my book (Living the Goode Life) to various
places around the world, we realise that international courier costs are
expensive so I suspect it would make more sense for them to be printed,
possibly in 2 or 3 different places then with much lower distribution
costs
My proposal would be that I would have the 21 posters scanned with the
latest equipment to a very high standard, and then that could be sent
electronically to anyone in the world. I'd be happy to do that for
=A3450 GBP
(Euro 500; US $585) and that would give full rights for printing them or
indeed passing those rights on to anyone else.

Hello Richard,
Thanks a lot for your work.
I would love to have a set in the original format if that is possible.
Would you please tell me how to proceed. I do not see the mail of Jeremy in
your email.
If not possible I am OK with a smaller size set.
Great thanks
Warm regards
Didier

The more I think about it, the keener I would be have the posters
scanned very high standard and then sell that electronically for the
price I mentioned below. But if there were 10 people who are sharing,
then no problem to split it different ways. The only potential problem
would be the possibility that someone deliberately or inadvertently
passes the scans to someone else who then distributes it free!
But if one or more people would like to make a proposal, I'd be keen to
pass the whole project on!

Would you consider a consortium of Yak Listers covering the cost of the
scanning and then releasing the documents to the world?
A dozen people at $50 would do the trick.

Would you have a good scan of these posters?
That also would be of great interest and I am of course ready to purchase.
Thanks again

Subject: | Engine Posters - Originals |
Hi,
Sold most of my CJ6 and M14-P parts, yet keep finding more that I have accumulated
throughout the years flying my "Sax Machine"... Am working on a short list
of good parts to sell.
One of the items I found is a complete set of the M14-P Engine posters. These
are the original 3 X 2 feet, never mounted and are still in the original cardboard
tube.
Make a reasonable offer off list, if interested.
Thanks,

Subject: Yak-List: Yak and M-14P Technical/Diagram/Drawing/Schematic Posters
I am interested in obtaining a complete set of the large posters that illustrate
the M-14P engine and Yak 52.
Engine, fuel system, air system, etc.
I have seen them in various places, they are about 3 x 2 Big with lots of detail.
Thanks, Nubile :)

Subject: | M 14 engine posters |
I've had quite a number of people contacting me either directly or through
the yak-list wanting posters. I realised that a significant problem that I
would have, based in Europe, would be distributing the posters within the US
which is clearly the biggest market. I hinted at this in an earlier post,
but John Warwick of the YakCollection, with whom I do a certain amount of
business, has said that he would like to have the originals of the posters
which he will then have printed in the USA and then have them available to
sell/distribute.
So please contact him to express your interest, and in the meantime I will
get the originals scanned perfectly and send the electronic copies to him.
Thank you for your interest
