I have excessive vibration on TO and landing. The dowel/rod that protrudes from the shimmy dampener is no longer protruding. I believe Ill need to rebuild the shimmy dampener. How do remove, repair or replace, service and reinstall the dampener? Additionally, who carries the rebuild/refurb kits for the shimmy dampeners on a -52? After removing t he cover I just push the aluminum tube from an air compresor blow gun into t he fitting and blow air into it. I don=99t know the correct pressure b ut I just add air until the second ring is visible, it=99s less than 1 00 lbs. I do it once or twice a year as needed. Yours might need to be rebui lt but you could try this first; takes about 5 minutes. Good luck.
