Looking for prop governor setup advice. M-14P. Had a v530 prop. in ground runup, the prop cycled fine per the book to 50%. In flight I could not get RPMs below around 2000rpm (70%). Have now installed MT 3-blade prop and MT upgraded the governor to produce higher pressure per their recommendation. Having same issue with the new prop. Ground run cycles down, but in flight it won't go below 70%. Also, in a steep descent, the RPM's will increase slightly. Anybody had this experience? Cheers and happy holidays, Gil Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=505362#505362

The governors are difficult to set up, and you do need to make sure that you get an absolutely full travel at the governor relating to the full travel in the cockpit. What happens when you pull the throttle back AFTER youve pulled the prop back to where the rpm is 2000 or 70%? Does the RPM decrease or stay at 2000? I thought a pressure upgrade of the governor was no longer required for the MT prop as theyd changed their hub. Any insights on this?
