I know glycol (50% glycerine, 50% alcohol?) was used originally, though last time I sent one out for someone else to do the inspection, it had a different fluid in it. How much fluid should I add? This is on a fixed gear/no flap application. My approach was clear chain lube , the sticky kind with solvent. Add a decent cup of this for tumbling it around in the tank and let dry for a time. An air hose will help dry the solvent. You can do two or three sessions for good coating and sniff for remains of solvent till you are satisfied with evaporation . After 16 years of running the 18 T no corrosion found at checks.
