Hello Yak owners! I must say that I do get annoyed when I see postings on the "Yak-list" that are nothing to do with aircraft, and I wonder why their posts seem to pass scrutiny. However, I felt that the couple of pages that I attach are appropriate for the Yak-list. Of course we think of Yak because of Alexander Yakovlev, the great designer. But the yak is an extremely common animal throughout Central Asia. By way of background, this article is extracted from a book written by A A Gill who was one of England's most celebrated restaurant critics until his all too early death about six years ago from cancer. But, after his death, a book was published with a variety of topics about which he had written including this one about Yaks, which I felt deserved a wider audience! I hope you will enjoy it.
