Make sure you wrap them tightly in several layers of plastic wrap before you store them so they dont dry rot. That will give them a longer shelf life. I know this is a controversial subject, but... My 2007 Silverado has a zillion band-gig miles on it. Last week, it woke up with a nasty, new case of tappet noise. "Oh, Crap!" I went to the hangar a nd checked the oil level: FULL. I added about a tablespoon of MMO. Started it - still there. 'Worked for a while and started it again - GONE! Hasn't r eappeared since. Science? Voodoo? Witchcraft? Machine oil w/ Red Dye #3 and peppermint favor ing? Whatever it takes to KEEP 'EM FLYING! (or hauling!)... All My Best!
