It is a pain but have you checked the voltage at the master switch. The master switch may have failed internally and although you have turned it on, the contacts are not switching over. I have had switch fail before. Turned it on and nothing happened. I agree w/ Greg W, these blocky switches on the CJ's front cockpit's row of toggle switches are internal fuse type (like a built-in circuit breaker), and they get old and can go bad, or can be susceptible to corrosion/oxidation. Thankfully they're not that expensive and not really difficult to replace. Having done it before, my advice (from the backseat) is to start by replacing the master switch, or doing a simple continuity check w/ multimeter from the switch's back side. The Chinese made the access to the back side of the switch bank pretty straightforward, via fuselage access panel on the front L/H side of the nose, just behind the cowlings. Think I have photos, if you'd like. Best, Justin Drafts draftsjust417@gmail.com On Thu, May 30, 2024 at 5:06=AFAM Greg Wrobel wrote: > Harv, > > I'm not aware of any fuse prior to the Master switch. The Master Switch is hot on one side at all times. When you turn it on, it pulls in the contactor that is in the vertical black box behind your right elbow on the cross member. When that pulls in it applies power to all of the switches, alternator etc. The back of the switch panel comes off with two thumb screws and if you get in the plane and lay on your back you can put a voltmeter on the terminals of the master switch. There should be 24 volts or so on one of the screws. If there is and you turn it on and if you dont hear that contactor pull in. Either the switch is bad or the contactor is bad. To check the switch take off both wires and use the ohms reading function and see if the switch goes from open circuit to close to a dead short. You can't check the switch using power unless you remove the wire on the output side of the switch. If you would like some more info please feel free to call at any time.
