After some experimenting using a mix of alcohol and Glycerine which will be come a very hard =93Stearin=94 when exposed for aluminum we have started us ing Corrosion X with good result. Corrosion X has very good lubrication cap abilities, will not affect rubber gaskets and seals and is very anti corros ion. We use it in both tanks during annual and spray some fluid into the adapter hose if we need to top up the tanks from a scuba bottle. When overhauling the actuators and uplocks we use Corrosion X grease for in ternal lubrication and as a corrosion inhibitor. This seems to work very well. Curious to know what the concern is on putt ing a non-silicone-based oil into the system is (e.g. what do you think wil l happen if a mineral oil is used?) I ask because since the system is compr essing and using ambient air, it's likely got all kinds of moisture in it a nyway (and whatever else) to begin with... so it's not exactly clean. -------- Andrew Patton Yak-50 San Francisco, CA Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=515151#515151

    From: "727gs" <727gs@att.net>
Any tutorials or guidance on the disassembly of the landing gear actuators on my CJ? Got the end caps off bit it appears the shaft is locked, I assume by a down lock mechanism utilizing the ball-bearings. Do I have to pressurize the up line to release it? Rebuild kits? Thanks in advance, Steve near Chicago -------- Steve near Chicago Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=515153#515153
