Subject: | Yak-50 main landing gear slam-down |
Hi List,
I have been having an intermittent issue with my right main landing gear on extension.
Here's what we have done to get the overall system in shape:
- removed the cleaned the main landing gear actuators for corrosion. The air system
is gratifyingly tight at the moment.
- Installed new chevron seals in the actuators
- Cleaned shuttle valves and replaced rubber balls inside the valve
- Removed mechanical uplock, cleaned, and lubricated
Retraction is normal. We have been unable to reproduce this on jacks, and it's
unpredictable in the air.
The problem, when it occurs: the left MLG has normal extension. Nothing seems to
happen on the right side (red lights go out). Then, after about 3 seconds, the
gear slams down so hard that it "bounces" into the lock position (the green
light blinks momentarily).
Any thoughts on what is happening here or how to better diagnose? We did 6 cycles
on jacks with perfect (simultaneous) extension before giving up.
Many thanks,
Andrew
