      ideal for the propeller... I feel that 9" would be

      I need some "keep it simple Fred" advice here.  I purchased a small bending 
      brake from Grizzly.com to make small bends (24" and less) and it has a sharp 
      edge for steel.  I was wondering if I could just go at it with a file and 
      end up with an edge pretty close to 1/8" radius.
      
      The advertisement claims:  "Bending is quick and easy with this little 
      brute! A favorite with our home built aircraft customers."
      
      Any thoughts on whether using a file is a good idea or not?  The brake can

      I just finished doing the bellcrank pivot, which comes with a 1/4" hole, but
      AN3 bolt to go through the bellcrank and supports. --- I bought a foot of
      3/16 ID, 5/16 OD tube from Airparts, then drilled (using a drillpress for
      accuracy) a 5/16 hole in the bellcrank. I then cut about 2" of tube, put it
      in the drillpress, and turned it against a file until I had a snug (not
      sloppy) fit. Cut to the proper length with a hacksaw while turning in the
      drillpress (poor man's lathe) it rests inside nicely.  The AN3 bolt slides
      in perfectly, already fitting the bellcrank support holes. A little lube
      before assembly, and it should last a long time.

      Some where in the FAR's, says you must have at least 7 inches of clearance.  
      This must be in a ground level attitude.

      I used 9 inches, read it somewhere and also went around measuring light
      planes at the airport. Had the standard wooden prop (68" dia) reduced to 66"
      for my installation.  Works fine.
