Jack, with some laquer thinner and a couple of mild cuss words, the stickers
come right off!

Jack . . . for the labels try "De-Solv-It" citrus solution. Spray it on (it
comes in a spray bottle), let it soak in for 5 minutes, and putty knife
scrape it off. Simple and non-toxic. Hap Schoenberger 701 do not archive

I just dampen those labels with a little laquer thinner. In 2-3 min, they
peel right off and the residue wipes up with the damp rag.

Actually, I did tell ZAC that they do indeed made a sticker that was easier
to remove while I was at the rudder workshop I attended. They said that
they tried that, but many parts, including the aluminum, comes some oil on
it, and they had a lot of trouble with the stickers coming off in transit,
which is unacceptable.
Jim hit the nail on the head - the secret is to just let the lacquer
thinner soak the label for 2-3 minutes - lay the rag on top of the label to
keep it from evaporating. Try it - you'll see the sticker peels right off
without mush residue left at all. If you do it too soon, then you have the
adhesive left on the aluminum, and you get to smear it around with the rag
for awhile.

List:
One more suggestion on dealing with sticky stickers and getting them off.
We discovered Goof-Off mid way through the building process and were amazed
at how easily it took off the sticky stickers. No need to wait, Goof-Off on
the rag, the rag on the sticker and ten seconds later it's all gone.
Goof-Off is also great for removing all the magic marker lines and notes.
Try it-You'll like it.

Since we are back on the subject again, I did find a bumper sticker remover
called "sticker shock" at the auto store in aerosol form. Just a spray and
the sticker comes off. Pretty convenient. Jack
