Hi list,
Tomorrow I have to do the last connection on my engine and panel. Can any
using a Stratus EA-81 and a Rocky Mountain EIS say where and how you made
your Tach connections. I know there are 2 ways to go about it and I was
looking for some ideas as to what everyone thought was best.
Thanks,
Steve (I could be taxiing very soon) Freeman

List . . . On my Edition 4 plans for the 701, wing dwg. 7-V-11, there are several
rib channels (vertical U shaped pieces) which attach to the rear ribs No. 1
and 2 and the main spar to laterally hold the fuel tank in place. The U channel
that is on the outboard side of rear rib No. 1 and to the rear of the spar
as shownin the lower left of dwg. 7-V-11, second plan detail up, is indicated
to be at Station 300. The rib itself is attached at Station 280. At station
300, the factory has already riveted the spar root doubler (7V3-2SP) to the
spar. There no room to move the rib channel outboard as there is lightening hole
immediately adjacent. It would appear that the four middle A5 rivets that
the factory installed attaching the doubler to the spar should be temporarily
removed so that this U channel can be put in place and then re-rivetted. This
doesn't seem right - why would the factory install the rivets in the first place?
Have any of you run into this problem or am I misreading the plans? I
would have written the ZAC, but I figured they were on their way to Sun n Fun
and wouldn't be available with an answer for up to two weeks. Thanks for your
help. Robert Schoenberger, 701 tail feathers done, working on the right wing.
