I lost count of the occasions, where I had the top skin off in order to work on the panel. It's a pain in the back to put all the rivnuts in, but well worth the time. I used a router with a 1/4 mill bit and cut a grove along the back edge to take the line. Change the bit to a 1/2 roundover and knocked of a few edges and it looks great. As for strength, I took out less material in all compared to the chamfered edge on the stock supplied one and by running the grove along the back edge it is stronger then Gun drilling.
