Cool website too! This is the company now providing the stepped valve guides that should hopefully stay IN the subaru heads! The plane is ready for painting, all mayor parts built and ready for the gas, brake lines, and cables to install, we will install them later so they dont get painted. Do you know if there is some drawings (side and top) in the Zenithair page to print and use as "practice" for the color scheme? I only find the 3 view drawings... I could copy them and "clean" them to use one in each page if no other ones available. We are happy and working harder in the plane every day. Requires Adobe Acrobat (download for free). Just scroll down past 701 stuff, keep scrolling,,,,,, Zed Smith do not archive ________________________________ Message 4 _____________________________________ Time: 07:47:27 PM PST US From: Tim & Diane Shankland Subject: Re: Zenith-List: Expanision tank --> Zenith-List message posted by: Tim & Diane Shankland Thanks for all the ideas, about expansion tanks, although there seems to be some variations between what I would call an expansion tank on the pressure side of the radiator system and the overflow tank which is on the low pressure side. In any case I have several leads to follow up on. Regarding what heater cores I am using they are for a 1990 GMC G15/G1500 VAN V8 5.0L without air conditioning. They are 9.5 X 7.5 X 2 inches and I could buy them new for $20 each. I spend most of the winter blowing air and water through heater cores and if my calculations and tests are correct these should be able to cool the engine in what I would consider the worst case, 50 mph, 90 degrees air temperature and max engine temperature of 210 . That would be a takeoff on a hot day. I am now trying to finish the cooling system design with the above mentioned expansion tank and the cabin heater, to be used for engine cooling in the summer.
