Great Photos Michel! I saved a few of them for future reference. It's great
to see the ZAC workmanship. They do good work at the factory.
I visited the ZAC factory for my rudder workshop in Jan. of this year. At
my request I was shown the "Skunkworks" hangar with the old projects
including the twin engine zodiac. They had "Retired" the older zodiac demo
planes (two of them) and have no plans to sell them for liability reasons.
The life of their demo planes is perhaps 5 to 10 years at best, so I don't
think primer is an issue for them. They told me they would probably salvage
parts from the old planes, then scrap them. These guys have all the
resources to repair or rebuild anything in short order anyway.
Thanks again for the photos. It's good to see you are still participating
in the forum.
Take care,
Scott Laughlin

List
I understand that ZAC uses Cortec 373. I talked to the local (Chicago area)
Cortec rep. His recommendation is Cortec 374. One of the key differences is
that 373 is intended to be top coated, whereas 374 can be left by itself.
That may not be a problem on internal surfaces, but 374 may be the better
choice.
I have a sample of the product that I intend to test in the next week or
two. If I am satisfied with the results, Ill pass the information along to
the list.
Cortec does not supply their products in small containers. If my tests are
successful, I will be offering Cortec 374 in more user friendly quantities.
If you are interested in receiving more information, please contact me off
line.

in the US, but no reply so far. As far as sounding like it's screaming....
the specs say cruise is at 7100 rpm. I'm pass on Midwest's reply when recieved....

I was at the 200th anniversary of manned flight in
Albecookie (sp?) New Mexico back in 1983. We had 785
hot air balloons in the air at one time. It was an
amazing sight. I guess these emblem designers must
have forgot about lighter-than-air flight.

--> Zenith-List message posted by: "rwash" <rwash@copper.net>
Readers,
Do to health reasons I'm regretfully selling my 701 plans project that I started
a year or so ago. It is the 4'th edition SP [sport pilot] Cad Drawings
with serial number. All sheet metal MDF forms made except firewall and panel.
Most all main wing ribs made except for one blank saved for pattern.
Have metal flanging dies for ribs and spar made and are included. Have been working
on main spars and have most material needed to finish. Have two 4x12 6061
.025 sheets cut and sorted for parts. Have 4x8 sheets of 6061 .032 and .040 still
in box, all included. Over $1000 invested but will sell for $700 to a good
home. Located in North-Central Ohio.

Hi everybody,
I just checked out Midwest web page. They are located in Egelsbach, Germany,
which is just a few miles down the road from the place where I live right
now. Will try to drop by within the next few days and talk to them. Results
will be published to this list.
Best regards
Thilo Kind

are a few things I've found....
> Atkins Rotary ( www.atkinsrotary.com) has a single rotor version, but
no reduction drive. Rans aircraft are developing a drive for it, and plan
to offer the package as an option. Dave Atkins says he has talked to Chris
Heitz about using the eng. on ZAC planes, and Chris has said send him an eng
and psru drive and they'll design the mounts... so again, they're waiting on
the dirve.
> Also, a couple companies overseas market a variety of rotarys, some
certified to european standards. And interestingly, Midwest Rotarys of
Germany ( http://www.avnet.co.uk/midwestengines/) features a rotary powered
601 on they're home page. If I've converted from metric correctly, I
believe thier AE 110 eng. weighs in at 121 pounds, while producing 105
horsepower. Not to bad!
> I will pass on any other interesting links I come across. And Gary...
check out www.rotaryaviation.com .... they're flying various rotary powered
RV products in the US.

Anyone have a Zodiac or Alarus file that works with FS2004? I tried some of
the files from the Zenith website and I'm missing a few important things,
like airspeed and tach.
