Thanks to all replays,
It was not my sense of meanness to ask for used plans...
Any way I understand what you mean Sal. I believe that company support is important.
I have already check with the Europeans representations Randy but they ask higher
price for the plans I try to verify why.
Jeff-
The XL model seems to be heavier with no considerable speed improvements, is that
correct?
Should I consider speed or not? what about wing efficient at altitude? There are
any flying one's? there is sufficient experience to say that they are better?
Please remember that I am new to the 601.

I'd like to point out that you *are* allowed to sell/buy plans - and transfer ownership/support.
All you need to do is to make sure ZAC is informed that serial # so-and-so is now
owned by xyz.
The new owner will then be entitled to receive support from ZAC.
I did buy my plans from a gentleman that decided to build and RV. At the time,
the hundred or two
hundred bucks saved was important to me because I hadn't committed to building
the 601, so if I
decided against it, I wanted to minimize losses.
I must say I have no regrets whatsoever, as ZAC has provided me with their usual
(great) support.
My two cents worth...

CH601 HD, plans - tail feathers done, building wings.

Hi List.
For anyone interested in a PSRU for your project, I
stumbled across a great little website with
information of considerations and design issues. It is
well laid out and good information for anyone looking
at selecting their own prop or buying/building a PRSU
http://www.epi-eng.com/GBX-Overview.htm
Cheers

Concerning speed, you will find a lot of discussion in the archives on this.
Let's just say that the speeds attained vary from individual plane to
individual plane. In my opinion, the 601 simply is not a fast airplane nor
a good IFR platform. The XL is built to support a heavier engine and has
other improvements. Canopy design and landing gear are just the beginning.

This past Friday and Saturday I had the pleasure of getting to fly in both
Fred Hulen and Jeff Small's Zodie Rockets. What a blast!!!
Reminds me of my younger days when I first put a West Bend engine in my
Percival Hellcat racing cart, except these Hellcat's (Zodiac's) had wings.
Jeff and Fred's workmanship has to been seen in person to appreciate. Jeff
even incorporated some fancy woodwork into his aircraft's interior.
Airspeed? I was having to much fun enjoying the incredible view out of that
fantastic bubble and making with the tight turns to even notice what the
airspeed was.
If you want to see a "trick" forward hinge system for the canopy, and also
an all metal engine cowl, lookup Bill Nichelson's "Casual Passion" at the
next airshow he attends.
Just before noon on Saturday the open house was invaded by a swarm (make
that 10 or 12) of Navions. I visited with one of their club members, he said
there could be as high as 20 show up, but that never materialized.
There was a total of five 601's that showed up and also one CH-200 in
attendance.
