Is another in-line fuel filter required between the gascolator and the engine-driven pump, or are the tank screen and gascolator mesh enough to properly filter the fuel? Thanks for any comments you may have. In my case, my EAA Technical Councilor said I did not need any more filtering, and the man from the FAA agreed with that when I asked him the same question during my final inspection. What brand gascolator did you install in your plane? I saw that Aircraft Spruce sells an ACS gascolator, but states that this one is not for use with auto fuel. So I bought the Usher model. I don't know what size the screen is though. I know the finger screen inside the tank is 16 mesh, and that the gascolator screen is a lot finer than that. What brand gascolator did you install in your plane? ++ That purchase was made several years ago and I believe it came from ACS. Sorry, but I doubt if I could find a receipt for it by now. The idea was to have the 701 finished by now, but we are late about two months (or maybe a little more). We are working on the doors, finishing the engine instalation and wiring the instrument panel. In the 601 XL kit box, comes a Navaid autopilot (wing leveler) for the 701, now the panel can be finished. Well, I wanted to share our happiness, now I hope we have the patience to finish the 701 before beguining to built the XL, We have plenty of space and another table can be built... :-) Saludos Gary Gower 701 912S 601 XL (no engine yet) Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.
