I'm installing the right wing locker from kit and the length of the back
panel is 500mm the space it is going in is 520mm (between RR# 4 & 5).
The plans show L angles being placed on the sides of the panel that then
connect to the ribs. Does anybody have photos of thier installation?

I looked in the archives for information on this, but am more confused than before
I looked. The 601 manual says to set 1/16" toe-in for the main gear. My
question is - what's the definition of that 1/16"? Is it the difference in two
measurements when the gear is off the ground (e.g., inside back of tire minus
inside front of tire), or is it the difference in the track of the wheels for
one revolution? If it's the latter, how did you folks measure it? I'm not
so sure I can measure 1/32" accurately just by rolling the plane.
Thanks for any help and advice.

I made mine as straight as possible and have had no problems landing or tire
wear.

Gig,
This does not answer your question, but while you are working on the
lockers please give some thought to securing the locker doors good. I must
admit that I failed to make a good preflight yesterday and I had the right
locker door open about 10 inches and as I started to climb it took a lot of
aileron to overcome the loss of lift of the right wing so I put it down
immediately in the grass beside the runway. After reading of one of our
builders crashing when a door opened I changed to using 2 10/32 screws in
addition to the supplied fasteners. However, the only failure was my
inspection.

Gig,
On my site there's a page on the baggage area which shows
door reinforcing angles and what was done to connect the back panel between
the ribs.
A little trimming at the lightening holes was needed to get them right.
Look at the wing directory and then the baggage subdirectory.
Hope this helps.

... might be worth adding a microswitch and an alarm on the instrument panel ...
Just a thought...

Checking toe is pretty easy. All ya got to do is jack up the plane so the
wheels can spin. With a piece of chalk or any thing that will make a thin line
on
the tire, spin the tire and make a line all the way around it. It can be any
where across the face of the tire. Now do that to the other tire. Simply
measure the front of both tires at the line and the rear of the tires at the line.
The difference is the toe in/ toe out.

I introduced myself to this list probably six months ago and promptly
disapeared. Just resubbed and bought a partially done ch601HD, along with
ea81 Stratus, firewall forward kit, etc. Any thoughts on how far along they
will allow a plane to be before I can't get the repairman's certificate?
Wings are done on this one, no turtledeck on yet, nor any cables or firewall
forward. I bought one that had been donated to www.donateyourplane.com
Haven't gone to pick it up yet.

I have a set of 601 hd and hds plans with wing tank
mods, trim mods for sale or trade. I have so many
projects going on I just don't have the time and would
like to sell for $250 or maybe trade for a set of
other plans or more than one set. If interested email
me and we will see what we can work out.
