Larry,
I had Todd reslope the rear of the canopy to blend with the
turtleback, the front end is stock dimension. And had a little added to the
height. At 6'3" I was comfortable in their demo, but have a son and brother
that are ~6'5". The only modification to the mounting hardware should be
the rear brace will need to be longer.

Hi Guys
I'm building a 701 in Uxbridge, Ontario, about an hour NE of Toronto. Almost
got my wings finished, so I'm getting ready to order the fuse kit. Got a
pretty good price on the kit, but the shipping quote is $807 + 7% gst!!!
Anybody know a way of bringing this price down? Maybe ganging up a shipment
with someone else that's planning one? I'm within trailering distance from
Midland. I wonder if they would accept the shipment?
How big/heavy is the fuse kit anyway?

Tony . . . the 701 fusalage crate is BIG - 9' long, 4' wide, and 3' high. I
believe the weight is around 350 pounds. I got a couple of moving dollies
from Harbor Freight and put two 52" long 2" x 4" extenders on the ends of
each. It enables me to easily move the crate around the garage when my wife
has garage sales, etc. I got the crate in May and haven't even opened it -
the wing construction is going a lot slower than I anticipated. Hap

""Now I'm ready to put the fuel tank into the wing, and I must be missing something.
First of all, I installed the side "U" channels on ribs 1 and 2 which hold
the tank in place facing rearward as shown in the plans. After drilling and
clecoing, I noticed the photo manual says to install them facing forward. I
can't see what difference this makes, but maybe someone can enlighten me if it
does""
Hap, Viewing the plans and photoguide for the tank installation, you have an idea
of how it
should be done, now customize your installation to suit your wing. As long as
the tank
is well secured with even pressure distribution you will be fine. Keep in mind
you may have
to remove the tank in the future. Do not install the fittings at this stage, they
just get in the way.
Plenty of clearance to do that later.

Hi list,
I'm plans building my cabin sides. On drawing 7f9 it shows the Corner
Angle
7f9-9sp, riveted to the bottom surface of the cabin side with a pitch
40. It
does'nt specify a rivet pitch for the side surface, except pitch 30,
between those two vertical "L". I have noticed on Zenith assembled cabin sides
that the other ones
do have a larger rivet spacing. I'm assuming the others are pitch 40. Can
anyone confirm this?
Thanks
Phil

Hi Hap,
Watch out the garage sales closely... one person might ask "how much
for that old wooden box..." :-) :-) :-)
Same happens with out complete 601 XL kit... The 701 is taking more
time to get finished than we spected, this box is getting old :-).
Saludos
Gary Gower.

I brought my 601HDS kit from Mexico, MO to Columbus, GA in (inside-not on
roof) of my Subaru Legacy Station Wagon. It took three trips and was packed and
visibility out the right window was sometimes scarce. Very doable.
