dwg. 7f 10 shows "no rivet zone" for the rudder pedals, and where the
engine
mount is attatched. But there is a 3rd. spot where the forward edge of the
cabin side over-laps on the floor. Can anyone tell me why? What does go here?
When can I rivet here?
Well I have lot'sa time to build, now that I've just lost my job to
that cheap
Chinese labor. Just no money now!
Thanks

Hello Phil.
Sorry to hear about your job loss.
Regarding the dwg. 7F-10 and no rivet zone.
On each side of the front fuselage, you will need to rivet the front
side skin (7F-14-3) under the floor.
On page 7-F-14, you will notice a "Z" where the side skin attaches to
the floor. (Section A-A) mid left on page. On my drawing the length is
510 mm.
Hope this helps.
Good luck in finding another job, and hurry. It make building more fun.
Best regards,
Johann G.

Hi Phil.
Mine are around 40. My kit is from factory and the last forward rivets
end in the 7F9-4 central upright.(approx. 155 mm from the forward edge),
and the last three are around 35 mm spaced. Looks like the most forward
rivets between 7F9-4 and 7F9-5, are missing??(two or three rivets). I
just didnt notice it until now.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes,
Johann G.

Hi list,
I'm plans building my cabin sides. On drawing 7f9 it shows the
Corner
Angle
7f9-9sp, riveted to the bottom surface of the cabin side with a
pitch
40. It
does'nt specify a rivet pitch for the side surface, except pitch
30,
between those two vertical "L". I have noticed on Zenith assembled
cabin sides
that the other ones
do have a larger rivet spacing. I'm assuming the others are pitch 40.
Can
anyone confirm this?
Thanks
Phil

I am just about to buy the 701 kit, but are a bit worried about things like quality,
parts that dont fit, build time, factory support?
I am quite handy with the front paws, also have a straight eye, do you think the
build time of 400 hrs is realistic?
'Escuse me for asking, if this sound stupid, but I live on the other side of the
world, parts are a bit scarce here.
Please other 701 builders, advise!
Thanks,
Dirk in Africa.
