I was slumming around the cable channels yesterday and saw a promo for "Sue Thomas:
F.B.Eye" on the Pax channel.
They promo'd an episode about tersts who use ultralights to release viruses. Then
they showed about a 1/2 second clip of what seems to be a yellow Zenith 601.
Does anyone know anything about this?
Regards,
Kevin Kinney

Does anyone know where I can get a reasonably priced 4' metal brake in the
Toronto, Canada area ?. New or used.
P.S. I'm new to this board, having just recieved my 701 plans from Zenith.
Looking forward to building and learning from other folks experiences - this
site is a great resource . Peter

I hope this isn't true, but I suggest that ZAC look into it please.

Hi All
I suspect I'm the taildragger builder mentioned. The only longerons that are
different in my kit are the two extruded ones under the forward fuselage.
Different only in that they are longer than in the trike version and extend
farther aft under the fuselage. Thicknesses are the same. The rear fuselage
longerons are the same formed material as the rest of the airplanes. After this
post I did have to go double check my drawings to make sure I hadn't missed
something. All is good. Gotta get back to wiring, now looking like I may be ready
for first flight early spring.

I've had a lot of great replies to this. Ranging from descriptions of
pedal placement, pedal sleeves, seats, and other various size people.
Thanks to all - I appreciate it. I may be a regular builder on this list
soon!

I recently parted out my 601 and listed the sale items here.
Everything has sold except a 68" warp drive prop and several tools.
I have posted some pics at www.geocities.com/metro3.geo of my remaining items.
Thanks to all for the great interest and many sympathies over my having to part
out 98RK. It is nice to know
it will continue to fly as so many other projects!

Mike is correct!!!
I stand corrected and I am terribly sorry. After checking again my set of
supplemental Tail Dragger plans. They are an additional 5 sheets that can
be purchased from Zenith. I miss read them some time ago. They say
mid way down the page, " The longerons are made of the same extrusion but
1420 mm long.... 3/4 x 3/4 x .093. "
BUT zenith was referring to the FORWARD CABIN longerons, part #
7.F.10.3......As Mike stated below...... and when I originally read it I
had understood it as the rear longerons.
Again. I apologize for the misunderstanding and any confusion I might
have caused.
Sincerely,
Monty Graves

My 18ah batteries will fit under the seat of my 601XL if I tilt them
about 17 degrees. They are sealed lead acid. The battery ads say they
will work in any attitude. This would make my balance work out.
Anybody using a handheld with a mounted antenna finding that it has
sufficient power output?
Are the seat pans the same on the HD and the XL?
