I used a 12 place Molex connector from radio shack for most of my engine
electrical connections. I mounted one side of the connector in a hole in the
firewall and the other end plugs into this from the inside of the cabin. I
put the hole in a convenient place near the right upper longeron and riveted
a galvanized steel flange around the connector and filled the area around
the connector with high temp RTV. Basically there's an inch deep steel dish
surrounding the connector filled with RTV to seal the hole and provide some
fire resistance. I have a similar steel flange surrounding the water hose
entry point for my cabin heater. This area I filled with several layers of
fire resistant foil-backed insulation and then sealed around the foil with
RTV. For the main battery lead, I found a pass-through battery connector
from Jegs. This is just an insulated brass stud that passes through the
firewall and the battery cable is connected to each side of it. See:

For ground connections I used the 24 tab grounding block from B&C Special
products. This includes a brass bolt for the main engine to battery ground
to pass through the firewall. See:

You all have a great hobby, and I envy the thrill you will have when you take off

Band saw. Haven't tried the chop saw, but my under-$100 band saw works
great on the fittings and smaller stuff - fast and neat. I wouldn't do
this without one.

I wonder if anyone out there has a favorite spraygun (brand, price) that they
have had good success with spraying Zinc Chromate primer. I have a 220 volt 80
gallon compressor with filtered and regulated air. Any hints, tips, clean up
suggestions greatfully accepted. Also any info on the different types of guns
and what works best for what is another subject I am unsure of.
Thanks
