Check out http://www.aviator.cc/engines.html for list of engines. There is a link to a BMW project there, as a indirect link. Raven Redrives Geo/Metro Suzuki 1300 4 cyl. Auto conversion is apparently pretty popular with the 701 crowd. Raven is producing the engine mount as well as the conversion package. I Opted for a additional turbo-charger. I want to play around with MPFI (Multi Port Fuel Injection), Electronic Ignition, DOHC, 4 valve per cylender, turbo, computer controlled & water cooled engine. Snagged mine for 300 dollars american,1999 GEO Metro 1300, running, with 37,000 miles from the salvage yard. ________________________________ Message 5 _____________________________________ Time: 07:22:54 AM PST US From: Rick Subject: Re: Zenith-List: Brake fluid ???? --> Zenith-List message posted by: Rick Benford2@aol.com wrote: > --> Zenith-List message posted by: Benford2@aol.com > > What style fluid are you guys using in the matco brakes. I set the brake on my plane at the end of august and in february this year, it was still holding the plane in place. Seems to work very well. It is mounted on the firewall. http://mthobby.pcperfect.com/ch601/images/DCP01855.JPG Please take note that I moved it since it was interfering with the pedals. It is now installed between the pedals instead of in front of the right one. The fuel pump is no longer at the location shown on the picture. The new matco web site has some nice printable pdf manuals for their products. When I received my wheel/brake assemblies for my 701 kit there was a cap screw head sheared off on one of the calipers. One of the ones that the shoe slides on. Anyway I used the online PDF diagrams and their online shopping and received this and some other stuff in 2 days. http://www.matcomfg.com/ Brian http://www.zenithair.com/bldrlist/profiles/bunruh/ ________________________________ Message 13 ____________________________________ Time: 01:02:41 PM PST US From: "Robert Schoenberger" Subject: Re: Zenith-List: Brake fluid ???? --> Zenith-List message posted by: "Robert Schoenberger" I remember seeing a posting a year or two ago whereby a shutoff valve, accessible from the cockpit while depressing the brake, was inserted between the brake piston by the pedal and the brake. To have parking brakes, apply the brakes, turn the valve, trap the pressurized brake fluid between the valve and the brake, and take one's foot off the brake pedal. The brakes stay applied until the valve is reopened. I am kind of choking on the huge pricetag associated with the Andair and other aviation 6-port fuel tank selector valves I have managed to find. We are running fuel injection so returning the feul to the same tank it came from is important and the simplest way will be with a 6-port fuel selector valve. Have any of you others who would choke on the high price come up with a cheaper alternative that will work reliably? Thanks for your help. David ===== David Barth 601 XL Plansbuilder 15% done? I installed one in my CH-300 and have also installed one in my CH-640. It is part number 06-17200 and the cost is $103.95 By the way, I finished my engine mount today! Just about ready to fly my CH-640 finally! Just need to build the wings and install the canopy and electrical systems etc etc. Jeff Paden I remember seeing a posting a year or two ago whereby a shutoff valve, accessible from the cockpit while depressing the brake, was inserted between the brake piston by the pedal and the brake. You can get it at any racing parts supplier. It doesn't ruin your paint in case of a spill. Plus it's easy on seals and such. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rick" Subject: Re: Zenith-List: Brake fluid ???? > --> Zenith-List message posted by: Rick > > > Benford2@aol.com wrote: > > > --> Zenith-List message posted by: Benford2@aol.com > > > > What style fluid are you guys using in the matco brakes. I don't know if this will help you, but that is the way I am going to plumb my fuel injection system.
