I made the mistake of just wanting to get going making parts and used an entire sheet of .016 making small parts. Now I have to get some large parts out of sheets and have some significant small pieces of sheet left over. I think if you buy your sheet and always take out the largest pieces first, you will usually be able to make your small pieces from the leftovers and not have as much waste. I may have some .016 you can buy cheap. I want to finish my elevator first and cut out the rest of the skins I will need but after that I may have a pile. If you are in a real hurry I could probably bundle you up a few smaller pieces 16" x 4' and send them out on the bus. I will probably be in the area sometine in the next 6 weeks and can bring them to Edmonton if you can wait. The quality of aluminum is the same. Aircraft Spruce ships the aluminum rolled up, stuffed in a box with a bunch of foam peanuts and it comes to your front door via UPS (The tape they use is a B!% & to get off aluminum). Yarde ships only to businesses and you have to go pick it up with a pickup truck because it is on a big, flat pallet. My order from Yarde was WAY less costly than my orders from Aircraft Spruce, but the Yarde order was larger. Aircraft Spruce has it's place when you need a small order and need it fast. You save money when you plan ahead and get a large shipment from Yarde Metals. I'm not aware of any protective film except what I've seen on the RV websites on kit parts. Protective film is put on 2024 Alclad sheets to protect the pure aluminum surface coating from scratches which would negate it's corrosion protection. This size bearing usually will carry a 1500# load each, and you have two of them. The side load they will carry is usually about 50% of that. So do you really think you are putting a side load of 1500% on those bearings when you land or turn a corner? The problem is as someone else wrote earlier, there needs to be a spacer between the two bearings to prevent a side load from the axel bolts being to tight. If you don't want to fab a spacer you could just tighten the axel bolts to about 5 inch pounds (a little over hand tight), they aren't going anywhere, they are safety wired. Mark S. The parts you require are $287 from Napa last time I checked. Now we have more evidence that the standard Nippon Denso ignitor chip is hideously feeble. When you say it's a Stratus, you really mean it's the Nippon Denso subaru distributor correct? If this is the case and you insist on replacing it I have the electronics you need that I can sell you for $100...Thats what it cost me. OR....You can take uncle Frank's advice and cut the ignitor chip off and wire the pickup coil to a GM style ignitor chip...NAPA do a heavy duty version called the TP 45 which is bullet proof. Get onto "yahoogroups" and join "airsoob" and "flysoob". The wiring diagram is in one of those group's file sections. You need a little more cranking speed to get it to work and sometimes mine won't start...Simple enough to switch power to the second ignition system a couple of times while cranking and it will fire right up. I use two of these systems wired into the same distributor cap...But that is more work and only necessary if (when in my case) the second Stratus crank fired system fails. Please don't pay $300 for the same junk as you got now!
