Just my opinion, but I didn't like it. They, Roger, told me I could use metal lines because the spring action actually takes place in the middle, not on the verticals. I wished they had gun drilled them like Glover does, but Glover was quite a bit higher too. Jack Larry Martin wrote:--> Zenith-List message posted by: "Larry Martin" I was wondering if it would affect the landing gear integrity if I drilled and tapped small holes (two or three) in the aft edge of the landing gear for attaching small Adel clamps to hold my lines and wires. Or any other ideas for attaching them would be appreciated. --- --- Version: 6.0.705 / Virus Database: 461 - Release Date: 6/12/2004 ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 07:25:15 AM PST US Subject: Re: Zenith-List: CH701s In Virginia? From: "Garrou, Douglas" --> Zenith-List message posted by: "Garrou, Douglas" We're building an 801 nearby in Richmond, at Hanover (OFP). We'd be happy to show you around if you want to see how the slightly larger version of the 701 gets put together, etc. -- aside from volume, mass, and a couple of extra seats, I don't think there's a lot of difference (although I don't think they actually share any parts!). I'll second Cliff's comments also, Bobby was kind enough to show us his 701 project over at RIC and the visit was very educational. You can call him at 804-222-7211 and leave a message....he's hard to track down sometimes. Sure he would be glad to show you his plane if you come to the Richmond area. However, the seconday ignition module merely toggles the voltage from high to low and vice versa. In my system, the voltage goes high after passing the magnetic pickup and toggles low after passing a series of holes on the flywheel. While the voltage is high, my ammeter shows 5.6 amps flowing, so the secondary ignition is a current sink when active. Hope this helps. Dick (601-HDS w/ Stratus 193 hours)
