I've been out of the "aircraft" loop for a while. Right after the kit was ordered, we bought property in the mountains of NC and I've been working on getting a road into the place and building a house ever since. We are just about finished with the house and about to get to the point we can get back to building an airplane. rog

--> Zenith-List message posted by: "Tom Orsborn" <tom-orsborn@houston.rr.com> I won't be able to make it to Oshkosh this year. It would be helpful if someone who is going could ask Chris if he would approve VGs as a method for meeting the new Sport Pilot stall limit with the 601HDS. Better yet, if he would design and test and sell a drawings/kit for that purpose to minimize issues with the inspector. ----- Original Message ----- From: "The Meiste's" <meiste@essex1.com> Subject: Re: Zenith-List: New Sport Pilot Limits and 601HDS > --> Zenith-List message posted by: "The Meiste's" <meiste@essex1.com> > > > How about more details? --> Zenith-List message posted by: "Leo J. Corbalis" <leocorbalis@sbcglobal.net> Just to stick my oar in, I put the Aeroflash strobe pwr supplies on the skin in front of the spar. I ran the wires through a ferrite toroid to suppress noise. On one side I had some tension in the wires and eventually it unplugged. I just drilled off the plastic wing tip and put a tiewrap around the plug and reriveted. They have been strobing for 7 years now. Leo Corbalis do not archive

Forget about adding thingies to the HDS and legally flying it as LSA. How are you going to run a testing program to present evidence? How are you going to have your testing procedures evaluated for providing proof of the necessary and correct empirical data? Same thing with saying it stalls below 45kt at a reduced gross. If the chance to exceed that gross exists, then someone will exceed it. The FAA went through this before with Part 103, the 254 pounds, the five gallons, etc. They are not going to open that same can of worms with LSA. SP/LSA was designed to avoid the problems, not make more. Bet on it. Nothing in the 452 pages talks about builder modifications. tailwinds jeff >someone who is going could ask Chris if he would approve VGs as a method for meeting the new Sport Pilot stall limit with the 601HDS. The author seems to think the volt meter is the best choice. Brett On Fri, 23 Jul 2004, Trevor Page wrote: > I'd like some opinions on which gauge type (volt or amps) I should > install in my panel? Subject: 801, new tail build
--> Zenith-List message posted by: "C95_OR" <c95_or@peoplepc.com> Hello builders, I am building a 801 that will have a (Eggenfellner) 3 liter, H-6 Subaru for power, ground adj prop for now. I was wondering if anyone has installed the larger 801 tail Kit, recently released by Zenith. Was wondering if anybody has any experience with the larger tail? It will give greater control for low speed operation. Has anyone installed an AOA indicator yet? Will be getting my engine in August. Thanks for the info. Cedric Schieber Oregon
