Greetings All
I was looking thru my digikey catalog and found in
section N a couple of pages worth of solid state
differential pressure sensors. SenSym ICT offers a
handbook, Digikey pn 287-1001-nd for 5$. This book may
be helpful to the experimenter wishing to develop his
own aoa circuitry. Myself, I will stay with the
minihelic gauge and tubing.

PS Spoke with Nick at OSH about engine downthrust(not
spelled out or mentioned on the plan) and what he told
me was that the wing has 3 degrees positive incidence
if mounted as designed so the engine cl should be
level with the fuse horizontal reference line. This
makes good sense, I will proceed with confidence

One of the best sources for AN fittings, stainless braided gas lines, alum
tubing, etc, etc is Summit Racing Equipment. Phone is 1-800-230-3030, web
is www.SummitRacing.com. Free catalog, a great reference for the library
and fittings are usually much cheaper than any aircraft supply house.
Check out their neat gauges too, both electrical and mechanical.

Does anyone have a picture Of Chris Heintz standing beside or sitting in
a Zodiac 601 any model? You think I would be able to find one on the ZAC
site, but it seems to elude me.

Roy THANK-YOU I have been looking for that in order to make LED readout
for the AOA on www.ch601.org site.

3/8" 3003 tubing has a working pressure of just over 500 psi, most fuel
systems operate at 15 psi or less. 5052 has a higher working pressure but is
also less flexible and harder to work with. 3003 will work fine for fuel
systems but 5052 may be required for hydraulic systems. ACS sells 5052
tubing in 6 or 12 foot lengths and sells 3003 in 1 foot diameter coils. Not
only is 3003 easier and cheaper to ship, it costs about a fifth as much as
5052.

5052 aluminum isn't very soft and this is the only tubing I've seen in the
5000 series. 3003-0 is very soft, has a working pressure more than high
enough for fuel systems and is readily available. 5005 has properties
similar to 3003 and is stronger but nobody seems to make tubing out of it.

Sure they are making tubing out of it look at the listings in the Wicks
catalog. It is the preferred tubing for fuel and hydraulic lines according
to their listing.

Correct me if I am wrong, but automotive fittings are different than aircraft fittings.
I believe one is 37 degrees and the other is 45 or so, I can't remember
exactly. If you go all the way with one or the other, then your fine, but
can't mix the two.
But your are right about Summit Racing, I've bought all my digital gauges, mufflers,
etc there and the price is generally the lowest. They are fast and give
you no hassle about returning stuff.

I don't have their catalog but the Wicks website doesn't list anything made
out of 5005 alloy. 5052 is probably a good choice for fuel line but it costs
more than 2 1/2 times as much as 3003. I don't have any experience with 5052
tubing but the 3003-0 was very easy to work with.
In an earlier post I said it cost 5 times as much, I read the wrong line on
the chart.
