I got them too. A little off subject, I kill them before they get to my
computer. I use a program called mailwasher, it allows you to look at your
e-mail at your ISP server level before it is downloaded to your computer.
Allows delete, blacklist, bounce and more. After you check off what you
want to do, you click on process e-mail and only those that you want will be
downloaded to your computer. It save you a ton of download time. Its free,
if you want to put up with a little advertising, It's $29, if I remember
right, if you want the full no-advertising version. I highly recommend it.
I might add, that it is very easy to use. It can be found at

For those of you who are interested in PegaStol wings. I have started documenting
the building process on my site. It is about 2/3s down on the first page,
titled "PegaStol Wing Building Process".
I only have a couple of pages, I am trying to add a page a day until I catch up
with where I am on the actual building, then it may slow way down. If you see
any errors such as typos or have suggestions, please e-mail me and I will fix
the errors and consider the suggestions.
My e-mail is lrm@isp.com, make sure you put something in the subject matter otherwise
I use mailwasher and may zap them before I read them.

Gents,
I decided to try riveting straight into the
wingtip pieces, and found that it worked fine. The
other ideas posted on this subject are very good ones,
and lightweight insurance is always good, but if you
just decide to rivet them in without backing, it will
work fine.

maybe it was you who plugged the list with 20 bogus messages yesterday.
If so, my message was directed to you, not Jon Croke, who did not have
anything to do with the spam-like messaging.
How did you do it ? Are you aware that your message was repeated about
20 times with unrelated subjects from other messages? And the sender

Everybody, STOP and take a breath!!! ****ing in each others' shoes does not get
airplanes built. Mistakes happen. Ignore them and press on. The amount of time

on another part cut and fitted, or a line of rivets accomplished. Let's remember

--> Zenith-List message posted by: Tim & Diane Shankland <tshank@megsinet.net>
There is an aspect of mechanical engine fuel pumps that is often not
considered. They are not additive for fuel pressure. Most engine driven
pumps do not pump on the "power stroke" from the engine. That is when
the engine pulls the diaphragm down it does not pumps fuel out, it
compresses a spring. When the power stroke is done the spring forces the
fuel out, so the pressure from the pump is determined by the spring.
This is because it it pumped on the power stoke the pressure would
overwhelm the carb. Since the output pressure of the mechanical pump is
determined by its' spring it is not additive. That is why low wing
aircraft with both an engine driven pump and an electric "boast pump"
have no problem with over pressure.

If so, does anyone have an electronic copy?? The guy

Hello all, Quick question.
Looking at the photo assembly manual it looks like you should not attach the lower
fairing on the rudder till some point later. I have been looking through
the plans and the assembly manual and can not seem to find out when to attach
it. Does any one know why it should be left off till later?

It has to clear the aft end of the fuselage. In fact, the side skins may
need to be trimmed to give some clearance for it. Don't rivet that part of
the rudder until the rudder is trial fit to the fuselage and the fairing is
fit at that time.

I would wait until you are ready to mount the rudder to the fuselage. You
will most likely have to make some adjustments to the fairing to get proper
clearance from the fuselage skin. Plus you will have to cut out a spot to
allow you to put the bolts in place.

As long as you are reviting a non-stress part you Might be ok, but why not
do it right? Those little washers that you can get at Lowe's Aircraft
supply don't cost much. It really is best to put some kind of metal
backing. They will eventually work out. I've done a ton of fiberglassing.

I just snipped out some from a little thin scrap, drilled through it and
riveted that on when I did my wingtip strobes. It took all of about 30

purchase 2 fuel gages to check the calibration of the VDO fuel sender. I would
like to get some recommendations on what type and brand of fuel gage others
have used that work well and a good place to buy them. I am only looking for
fuel gages and not a complete engine gage package.
Thanks in advance,

Mike: I just picked up a couple of VDO guages from http://www.egauges.com/
They have several different models to match the ohm's of your senders. I got the
backlighted type. I could have used my EIS for fuel but I had some blank dash
space. Jack in Clovis CA

Hi Larry: What "CD" are you referring to? Is there a CD available with
color construction pictures for the 701?
Thanks, Mike Elrod
