You would probably get a better response if you sent your message to the
Corvaircraft list. I have used auto fuel when I had the Revflo carb on my
engine. I didn't have any problem with the auto gas, but had plenty of
problems with the carb. I'm now using an Ellison and am much happier with
it. So far the only down sides to the Ellison is the cost and the
      requirement to use avgas.

List ,, I was fortunate enough to visit with John over the
holidays and admire his project. This was before he decided to
sell it. If anyone is considering an almost complete project this
      is a GOOD one.
I have built 3 other homebuilts besides the 701 I'm constructing
and have looked at probably a hundred projects in garages over the
last 30 odd years and this 701 is in the top 3 or 4. The
workmanship is as good or better than what you get from the Czech
      Aircraft works.
I'm very sorry John has to sell it as that decision is generally
spurred by something serious, plus he promised me a ride!! Wish I
could buy it. LOW&SLOW John Bolding

Don't mess with those springs! Using weaker springs may prevent the engine from
      achieving full power.

I have a vernier throttle on my plane and don't find the pull force to be excessive,
but then I did not use the throttle setup that came with the kit. My plane
has a single throttle control that leads to a bracket where it connects to
the two throtle cables from the carbs. Check the cable guide tubes from the carbs
to your throttle linkage, they should be as straight as possible. The more
curve they have in them and the smaller the radius of the curves, the more friction
      they will have.

      >Dear List: I find that the throttle springs on the Bing carbs are very strong
and pull the throttle open. I have installed a vernier throttle control, but I
find the spring pressure requires a substantial "pull" on the throttle to throttle
down. Has anyone replaced the springs with lighter springs or even removed
the springs from the carbs? I have loosened the split nylon tension block used
with the old throttles and merely use it as a guide, but the pull required
      is substantial.

      Report from: Wally Wiley,

      MAF Area Manager, Asia

The C206 has been in the disaster area for three days now and is based in
Meulaboh. Today we flew the first flight into the disaster area with the
      Caravan bringing supplies.

Yesterday, it was pouring rain and there was a man sitting on what remained
of his house (just the foundation). He was holding up a piece of linoleum to
keep the rain from hitting him directly. When asked about his family he said
that his wife was killed and all of his kids are missing and he doesn't know
where they are or what happened to them.

Today, Samaritans Purse made their helicopter available to us for areas that
we can land the 206. They found a place that is about 45 miles away from
      Meulaboh.

When they landed there the people begged for any food that they had saying
that they had not eaten for the last week. The pilots told them that if they
helped get an area cleaned up for the plane to land that they would be back.

They did help and the plane was able to return today and brought two loads
of rice. They report that about 3,000 villagers are left there out of a
      population of approximately 10,000.

A doctor is desperately needed as many of the survivors have broken bones
and other injuries but have received no help as of yet. We will be flying
some medical help in tomorrow morning to Meulaboh so that they can start
      meeting those needs.

It's heartbreaking to know that there are still so many of these areas where
people need desperately to be helped.

We will be flying down to another area tomorrow and out to an Island called
Nias that was also hit by the Tsunami. We want to find the areas that need
our help the most and areas that we can serve with our smaller aircraft.

John, this is very sad, hope it never happens to me.
If it was at all possible I'd buy it any day, I sometimes used your pics as a photo

A couple of weeks ago someone replied about bearings with the name of a supplier
and bearing part numbers in the Seattle area.

I found a catalog on line with all kinds of bearings and cups etc.

Unfortunately, I've since reformatted my hard drive and lost everything.

I searched the Archives and couldn't find it.

Would the sender please send me the name of the bearing company.

      Thanks,

      Dan
