Hello David,
Earlier PC power supplies were not standardized the way they are today. I seem
to remember that there was a interlock circuit built into the PC to protect the
motherboard. A certain condition had to be met before the power supply would
come on. I can't tell you more than that about it.
Today they are all standardized of a type called "switching" power supplies internally
they can have some very high voltages so treat them with great respect.
There is a write up about the things at http://computer.howstuffworks.com/power-supply.htm also if you go to this site; http://www.nutsvolts.com/index.html and do a search on "PC Power supply" you will find an article in PDF format which will give you a lot more information. Most PC power supplies don't provide a whole lot of power so depending on your needs you might consider a 12 volt car battery with a trickle charger. You can't get a much better filter than a battery and they will provide a lot of amps for short periods of time.

It is a switching power supply and it only works with a certain load. It
will not work if you have just a digital ohm meter across the leads.

You haven't seen the forward facing paint ball gun barrels on each wing to shoot
at trespassers on our game ranch in Western Nebraska. They will be used for
moving targets since most of them are on snowmobiles or 4-wheelers. Just call
the Sheriff and tell him to look for the guys with the big, red blotches on
their clothing.

Heath: There was quite a bit of discussion on this subject a while back. Check
the archives. I still don't have a definite answer and won't until I fly my
XL with a right left both and one facet fuel pump in front of that. Some say that
you can't have a "both" in a low wing because in a turn the low wing with
a low fuel level will send air to your pump and since air is easier to push than
fuel the other tank won't supply. I have checked with my tech adviser and several
A&P's and they don't think it is a problem. Production low wings don't
have a "both". Some of the builders have done the fuel pump in each wing thing
but I plan on running mine the way I have it set up. I think that since the tanks
set 4 ribs "up" in the wing that I will have some head pressure from the
tank. This I will be able to test when I start to fill with fuel. I don't think
it will be a problem with the tanks full and I plan on testing the turn theory
with low tanks about 4000' above the airport duri
ng the
test flight phase. If I find a problem I can block off the "both" placard on the
valve and turn it into a left right. Whatever you decide to do, keep in mind
that fuel systems is the #1 problem in home builts for engine failure. Jack
