The European dealers have a smaller, narrower version. I think I bought
mine from the Czeck dealer (Chip Irwin?)... the kit was complete with all
attachment hardware etc, and the pants are well made.

Somewhere I grabbed a photo of G-DONT - a very pretty XL with some nice
looking, quite trim pants. I don't know if they are ZAC or not but I don't
think you could get any much smaller to work.

Hi list
I have been more of a lurker than a contributor for the last 2 years as I
have worked on finishing up a 601HD. Yesterday N4036A got it's airworthiness
certificate and is ready to fly. I haven't finished with my pilot license
yet but do have someone who will be the test pilot. He would like to find
someone with who he could get some time in with a 601 before he flies. Is
there anyone in the southwestern part of VA, NC, TN, or KY that would be
willing to let him get some time. Actually he is currently in nortthern VA
so anyone in that area would work also. Thanks for any help you can give.

For those like myself, who are more than a few years away from textbooks, the link
is to a reminder of "How To Draw A Circle" or bisect a whatever.
Might be useful for those who need to find the offset center of some crooked line
or lay out nose/wing/fuselage art.
Click on "Ruler-and-Compass Constructions" when you get there.

I found it while looking for an easy way to make a mount (match the bolt circle)
for a slightly bent McCauley prop which will eventually begin a new life as
a wind vane. Do I need to consider "P-factor", depending on wind speed?

To all Interested parties,
I have decided to sell my Zodiac CH 640 airplane as it is. I have come
to the realization that my time and finances are limited as to the projects
I choose. I currently own and fly a Cessna 172I and can not afford to build
and maintain the two aircraft. I have long range fuel tanks (2) -23 US
Gallons. The Kit consist of all airframe componets down to the tires and
seatbelts etc,,,. My cost are: $24,800.00 for complete kit including fuel
systems; Additional cost I paid are $1,736.00 sales tax; $900.00 long
range fuel tanks; $2,000.00 tail components factory built ; $1,000.00
upgraded fueline (stratoflex SS braided hoses and fittings) plus some tools.
All of these items total $30,436.00. I am asking for the cost of the kit
only $24,800.00. Buyer must arrange to pickup or ship. This airplane is an
great cross country IFR capable platform. Top Speed with an O-360 is
167mph; Cruise is 154 mph according to Zenair LTD in Midland Ontario. Stall
is 30mph with full flaps !
and 40 mph no flaps
The aircraft is in the following status:
1) The right wing is about 80% complete with the aileron bellcrank
assembly, control rod and the cables installed. Both left and right ailerons
are assembled but not installed.
2) The horizontalstabilizer/elevator and /vertical fin/rudder are
factory built and complete with wiring installed.
Digital pics can be sent to anyone wishing to have them.
Regards To All,
Scott Moser

Dave,
If the standard XL tri-gear uses the same Matco 4 x 8.00 wheels and
forks, I've just finished right and left high gloss forms
for a pant that is 13.5 high, 7.5 wide and 26.5 long. These curve
narrower at the front and rear and have a slight sweep up to center at
the rear. Still have to make the molds from them and then the product.
I think they look much better than the standard 13.5" x 10" wide by 36"
long pants from ZAC. Completion is several weeks, but pictures will soon
be posted on my site. I'm also going to sell my ZAC pants for $100 as
soon as these are done.
If there's interest, I can do more layups as needed.

I emailed the following to ZAC. Would anyone like to comment?

I am thinking of purchasing the update drawings. I would like the 15gal tank
option. I've already fabbed the right wing ribs but not spar. I notice that
the direction of the front flange on the RR's have changed. Can I just
rebend the flanges the other way on the ones I have fabbed? Any other
problems I need to be aware of while making the switch to the updated plans?

You'll likely have a tough time getting an answer to
that one. A lot depends on which version of the plans
you have now, but there are LOTS of revisions. I asked
the same question to ZAC, but never got a reply. My
main concern was which items are crucial to the safety
of the airframe. It would be great if they would
handle updates much like software, where some are
"critical". If you get an answer to that question,
please post the reply. Thanks!
