The main point is - how high the fuel consumption is (per hour) The subaru conversions seems to be more reliable in words of fuel economy, and parts availability, but are heavier and bigger. Does anyone here has some experience with rotaries? I have seen many belts too tight. At the time I was just interested in the 701.com website because I was building one and was sure I could get someone to take over the 601.org website for that type of plane. After offering it on the list, David Barth said he would give it a try, he added a few pictures of planes and then asked his building buddy if he wanted to help out. Along came Mark Townsend! Boy, did things change, the www.ch601.org website started to grow in leaps and bounds with content from all over the world and from the personal experience of both Mark and David, both of which have been long time members of this list. Then I started getting busy with www.HomebuiltHELP.com and Mark took over the majority of work on www.ch701.com . Once again leaps and bounds of information poured in from all types of builders to make 701.com a leading site in education for any and all 701 builders. Now today I have just seen the announcement that Zenith Aircraft company has expanded it's representation in Canada to a company known as Can-Zac Aviation. I am proud to announce that Can-Zac Aviation is owned by Mark Townsend and David Barth ! Zenith builders and people in Canada couldn't have found a better two guys to help them out, Mark and David , CONGRATULATIONS! Many have learned from you two over the years and now it looks as if many will continue to learn for years to come!!! For more information you can see the announcement on the Zenith site at http://www.zenithair.com/news/index.html Good Luck Guys Jon ________________________________ Message 7 _____________________________________ Time: 10:22:32 AM PST US From: Rick R Subject: Re: Zenith-List: New Zenith Distributor --> Zenith-List message posted by: Rick R WOW ! ! I used the balloon method and everything worked well. (Robert S, I even drew a smile face) Before I put the sender in I spent quite a bit of time getting out the little bits of Al from cutting the sender hole. I ended up putting a piece of masking tape partially over the sender end and blowing compressed air with an extension in the filler hole. This moved particles around and out the sender hole. It took a while, 45 min, till the tape came up clean. I thought it was clean but now I know it is. It took a while but worked well. Leave the last rivet hole open until you install the end ribs. I learned the hard way and had to drill out four (yes 4) A4 rivets in order to install the end ribs on the horizontal stab. If the instruction manual mentioned this, I failed to notice. Not a big deal, just a pain in the a$$!!!! Happy Building!!! They have hundreds of pictures so it may take awhile to find it. I think it's a European aircraft. You might also search the archives discussion some time back.
