Hi Brian,
I have used automotive pin stripping tape for marking air speed limitations.
It can be bought at almost any auto paint supply or auto parts store auto
zone). I believe I have even seen it at K-mart and Wal-Mart. It comes in a
variety of lengths (usually enough in a roll to stripe a car), pick the
color of your choice and the width (1/16th 1/8th etc). Very inexpensive.

for the plans. Then buy the rest of the kit.

Nope, haven't started yet. But, each leg has an outer and inner attachment. The
outer is similar to ZAC's design, a plate-and-clamp that rivets to the fuselage
side, and at the inner end, a sort of "pocket" attached under the floor that
captures the gear leg, with a through bolt to hold it in place.

I wasn't aware of the tax either. The tax eaters get info from the FAA after
its flying. This guarantees that you will pay penalties. Its cheaper to do
it now. Everything from Acft Spruce is already taxed as well as Harbor
Freight and Orchard Supply Aircraft Parts ETC companies. I had been flying
for almost 5 years. Your choice. Extortion now or later. Now is cheaper!

I posted this on the Aeroelectric list but would like to know what you guys
think.
A quick question to the group. I am using drawing Z-16 Rotax 912, I have my
battery and battery contactor behind the passenger seat in my Zenith 701 and
not on the firewall.
Should I:
1) Run the 4 AWG wire from the battery contactor up thru the firewall,
connect to the
starter contacter, then run a separate wire from the starter contacter
back thru the
firewall to the main bus.
2) Run the 4 AWG wire from the battery contactor to the main bus fuse
block, then run
from the fuseblock thru the firewall to the starter contactor.
3) Run the 4 AWG wire from the battery contactor to a standalone terminal
from west marine
to a location up near the firewall and then 2 4AWG split from this
terminal to the main bus
and another thru the firewall to the starter contactor.

Well guys it took some arm twisting and downright pleading, but we were
able to convince ZAC to produce a statement to clarify what was printed
in the RAA Magazine article. I know that any company is pretty cautious
about prototypes in the works and it is a rare event for something like
this to get out. The CH750 will likely be a great addition to the Zenith
line of planes in the future but for those building a 701 or considering
building one there is no reason to wait for a different model. In fact,
much like you guys we stopped making parts for ours and waited to hear
more, now were back at it and plan to finish the Can-Zac Sky Jeep! Read
the release and see what I am talking about.

If it were not for the cold front moving through Eastern Pa an and New York,
Jeff Small and I would already be parked on the flightline. We both expect
to get there Thursday morning and stay through Saturday.
We expect we will be parked in the "camping area" which is on the South East
area of the airport grounds. This is essentially the "core" area for the
event.
If you are coming in for the day, they will park you a bit further away, but
in the same area of the airport. Tell the Unicom operator if you will be
camping or just staying for the day. When you get on the taxiway, they will
direct you. You might have to walk a couple hundred feet to find us if
parking in the non-camping area. But I'll bet we find you first!
This is not an Oshkosh where you have to search for hours to find anything.
Just a laid back event you can relax and enjoy. Just remember when flying
in, there are lots of slow moving Cubs puttering about without radios, so
keep your eyes moving! And there are two runways in use in parallel. One
paved and one grass. Cubs almost always use the grass.
If we get two Zodiacs, we can call this the official "First Annual East
Coast Zodiac Fly-In". Three or more will be a minor invasion of Piper
territory.
Even though it is mostly a Piper event, I spend a lot of time answering
questions about the Zodiac and homebuilding. Lots of fun educating the
locals.
The weather should cooperate for the rest of the event.

I ran one 4 AWG conductor from the contactor to a one terminal of a
pass-through connector in the firewall and a 6 AWG conductor from that same
terminal to my main fuse panel. I ran a 4 AWG conductor from the other
terminal of the pass-through connector to the starter and another 6 AWG
conductor to the alternator. I got the pass-through connector from Jeggs:
