Roger Dubbert told me they have a 3 month waiting list from order date to ship date for the 701. So it seems to me that with their current setup and size, that is not going to improve. Hope this helps, Tommy Walker in Alabama\ Do Not Archive ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 06:04:22 AM PST US From: "Tommy Walker" Subject: Re: Zenith-List: CH701 Pilot Height/Weight Questions --> Zenith-List message posted by: "Tommy Walker" Jeff, I'm 6.1 and 205 lbs (how did I gain that much weight?) I rode in the factory demo last week and had more room than I did in the Cessna 175 I used to own. It's a little awkward getting in, but that's because of my advancing age. Roger Dubbert is about 6.2 or 6.3 and probably weighs 125 lbs (just kidding, but he is thin). Enjoyed the ride very much. Got to make a few turns, straight and level, stalls, etc. This was my second ride and made me want to get my plane finished. Maybe now that the heatwave has passed in the southeast, I can get cracking.... If at all possible, get a ride in a 701. Where are you located? There does not seem to be much difference in the performance numbers they list for the two. My Zodiac XL has a Jabiru 3300 with cabin heat option, dual throttles. Interior mating surfaces primed with SEM and Marhyde self etch primer. Dynon D10A, EIS, Garmin 296, couple of steam gauges. Center stick. Skyshops seats. Weighed on 3 scales from Target ($5.99 each!). I weighed with each scale on each wheel. one was about 6lbs off, so moving the scales around allowed me to work out the real weight. Wheel/Datum measurements: Lr 753mm, Ll 753mm, Ln 525mm (as indicated on the Zenith W&B PDF file) Empty weight 712lbs, CG 264.8mm Cheers, ..lance http://lancegingell.com/plane.asp ________________________________ Message 7 _____________________________________ Time: 12:17:18 PM PST US From: JAPhillipsGA@aol.com Subject: Re: Zenith-List: Zodiac XL Weight & Balance --> Zenith-List message posted by: JAPhillipsGA@aol.com Lance, that's really great ! You got any paint on that plane ? You should have a real barn burner at that weight. I asked Roger @ ZAC and he said the prototype XL weighed 730 so you must be a wizard at keeping the weight down. How does she fly and what kind of performance numbers can you report? Best regards, Bill ________________________________ Message 8 _____________________________________ Time: 01:17:07 PM PST US From: "John Anderson" Subject: Zenith-List: 0-235 --> Zenith-List message posted by: "John Anderson" Thanks Randy and Jeffery. I am considering the Warp drive prop. My 601 would indicate 105 but that was at 3500 rpm! At 3000 about 95. Take off is impressive. My son is a student pilot (220) and I weigh 210 lbs so when I found this "0" time 235 I just could not resist. I will sorely miss the miserly fuel burn on the Revmaster. I am sure it will make some sport pilot a happy flyer.
