That is true. However, I was talking about the type of rubber hoses that come in
the fuel system kit.

So, what do you do when the first owner of a kit has died? It will be hard
to get that bill of sale.--

Steve,
We have all heard horror stories about how
difficult the FAA is when registering experimentals.
I am sure there is a way to register the aircraft
without a bill of sale if the previous owner is dead,
but it will take an FAA year... What I mentioned will
provide the path of least FAA resistance.

Brandon and others,
I had a special horror story on registering my plane that seemed
impossible to sort out. I called the EAA Hotline and got great advise.
Those guys know what can be done since they talk to hundreds of folks a
year. Give them a call. The number is on the back of you EAA card, or
you can call the main number and tell them it's about homebuilt
registration and they will connect you with a friendly expert. Worked
for me! That's why we pay the big bucks for Membership ;-)

All-
Just wanted to apologize for not including "Do Not Archive" to my last posting,
"Typhoid Mary"
It pissed me off so much that brilliant idiots can to rob us from valued build
time that I forgot to add the disclaimer.
I lost the last month rebuilding our computers rather than working on my project.
Hope to get back to work tomorrow.
Good building!

I think it is just regular low pressure fuel line, which is fine and will
last a long time. All I am saying is that Fuel Injection line is much
better, higher quality and higher pressure, but higher price. This type of
fuel line, especially since it will not be exposed to the elements will last
longer than either you or I will be flying. So as long as it doesn't get
cut, you don't need to ever change it out. On the other hand poly line
doesn't handle radiuses well, cuts easy, also gets hard and brittle with
age. The only down side I know of with "rubber" fuel line is that it weighs
a little more, but the trade off in safety is well worth it.

Group,
I'm thinking of getting a 701 for just some simple fun flying. One question I
have is: can one remove the doors and fly without them? In the heat of a Texas
summer the idea is appealing.
Thanks,
Chris Harding

Yes, do it all the time. You'll lose some speed/aerodynamics, no big deal.
Side slips are interesting...
Don't stick your head out looking down if you care about your hat ;')
Its tempting...
Haven't yet tried flying with them on but up (top hinge), but I've
heard of it being done. I would need to fail-proof my latch before
trying that...

I've been looking through AC 43.13 hoping to find a section where it says
that it is not necessary to use AN nuts and bolts on non structural parts of
the airframe. I cant find it. I'm interested in knowing what others have
others done when it comes to attaching things like Adel clamps and grounding
wires.
Thanks

Sure you can. we fly it sometimes like this, in fact we are making an extra set
of "summer doors" that will be ready in a few weeks. they will have no windows
but kind of a wind deflector made of lexan, once it works (if it does) I
will post some pictures.
Johann, forgot the photos of the gas transfer, I will try to take them tomorrow,
we are going on a short Xcountry to a barbacue in a friends ranch. Hope
I dont forget my camera and take some photos of the flight... Hot season and
windy time is here, time for fun before it rains (June, July)
