Ron, I had the pre-drilled skin like you and I remember this going fairly easily. From what I remember, when the line on the front spar flange was visible, the aft edge of the skin lined up nicely with the rear spar trailing edge. After you get it strapped and everything is level, sqaure and not twisted as referenced in the guides, go ahead and trial fit the end ribs to get the warm fuzzy that it looks right before drilling. Good luck, DaveG -------- David Gallagher 601 XL, tail and wings completed, starting fueslage. Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=100252#100252

I just wired my Hobbs to the Alternator switch. The only time that I use the Alt switch is when I run the engine. If you already have the switch, it is a normally open switch and will close when you apply oil pressure. Connect the ground lead of the Hobbs to the oil pressure switch and that will activate it when the engine is running. Obviously you need +12v to the other side of the Hobbs meter which should be fused and connected through your Power switch. Tracy, when you buy an engine the CD comes with the installation and maintenance data. I'm sure the Jab folks would sell you one. Also, if you try Pete at Jab Tennessee and get nothing try Andy at Jab Florida (Suncoast ?). Sometimes he can help when the Tennessee folks are elsewhere, Best of luck, Bill of Georgia -----Original Message----- From: ccwacker@HOTMAIL.COM Sent: Tue, 13 Mar 2007 8:39 AM Subject: RE: Zenith-List: Maintenance Manual You should have recieved one on a cd with the engine as well as a parts list on cd. From: japhillipsga@aol.com
Dan, I flew my XL this morning in prep for my Biannual flight review this weekend and the LRI is a charm at power off stalls. Just as the needle goes into the red I feel the bumping. I made a "short field" landing with full flaps and the needle at the line between red and yellow and touchdown on a dime. I think Scott made the probe I installed and I got the dial face from him. Power on stalls are real problem with my XL. The Jab 3300 just pulls you over past vertical into a loop. Maybe I need to start slower ? Best regards and I recommend LRI. Bill of Georgia -----Original Message----- From: dj45@modempool.com Sent: Mon, 12 Mar 2007 3:01 PM Subject: Zenith-List: Re: LRI pickup Sorry Guys, I just got off the phone with the machinist and he wants $70 each for the LRI. Scott Laughlin (cookingwithgas@hotmail.com)sells them for $50 plus the face and instructions. So I guess that would be the way to go. Scott is trying to get his plane in the air, so maybe it will be awhile before he can get too them. If you just can't wait, this guy can do them now. I've not yet had the chance to have the problem in a 601 but I have flown planes that did the same thing. And you are right, slow down before you begin. What you are trying to duplicate in a power on stall is a stall shortly after takeoff so slow down to just above your normal take off speed say about 10% above it. japhillipsga(at)aol.com wrote: > Power on stalls are real problem with my XL. Jabiru engine maintenance, installation, and parts manuals are available on the Jabiru USA web site www.usjabiru.com <http://www.usjabiru.com/> in the service bulletin & manual section. Also at Sun Coast Sport planes web site www.suncoastjabiru.com <http://www.suncoastjabiru.com/> , also on the west coast Jabiru dealer site www.jabirupacific.com <http://www.jabirupacific.com/> , and also on the Jabiru factory site www.jabiru.net.au <http://www.jabiru.net.au/> . The manuals are probably on more Jabiru dealer sites as well. Just go to one and download.
