      Hi James,

You want a DPDT Momentary switch for this purpose. The 601 drawings
I received from ZAC include a wiring diagram for this function. I
also did one for my own installation that includes a 15 amp circuit
breaker (the size recommended by ZAC), the flap switch, wiring for
both limit switches, and the flap motor. I have no idea how much
current your particular flap motor can draw, but with no other
information I would use the same size circuit breaker and switch as
      the 601 drawing calls for.

I used a toggle switch for mine. If you want a rocker style switch
instead of a toggle you can probably find one from one of the big
online electronic component houses like Digikey or Mouser. If you
are not used to this kind of supplier it can be a bit
overwhelming. I would be glad to look one up for you if you give me
your final specifications including current requirement and color and
size preference. The most important specs are the current and
DPDT-Momentary. Just send me an email directly if you would like
      some further help.

I don't think you can read my drawing file for the flap wiring
diagram. I used Autosketch to draw it. If you want to see it I can
take a picture and send you a JPG file.

      Good luck,

      Paul

please be very careful with this type of installation. Several corporate and airliner
type aircraft have crashed as a result of a wiring flaw driving the tab
to maximum deflection. If you can't overcontrol the tab manually on the stick
      it could be a problem.

I'm in the process of wiring my flap motor for my 701. I have a 12V
Warner Linear Actuator with only 2 wires. The actuator will reverse
it's direction when I switch the 2 leads on my battery +/- terminals.
My question; is there a "rocker" type switch that will work for this
installation and how is it wired? Thanks in advance for any help. Jim

In addition to these below, you might also consider automotive window
or seat switches, which come dirt cheap from a junkyard, and are DC ra

| Subject: | HD/HDS Arm rest sides |

      Guys-
In a real pickle here. You'll have to follow closely.
I'm trying to install the arm rest sides. They don't come close to
fitting without forcing the rear of the seat pan and channel forward
      about 10mm.
My plans clearly show, even emphasize the distance from the
c-section spar web 535mm to the front of the rear pan.
          1. I rechecked the distance and I'm within 1mm.
          2. I checked the kit arm rest sides. Everything's dead on except the
      138mm dimension which is 135mm. Shouldn't be a factor.
          3. Like an absolute idiot, I removed the shims leveling the
c-section thinking they might be distorting the pan. Nope. Now I have to
      re-level.
          4. Checked the rear channel for bow. Nada.
          5. Worked on the car for a while to clear my head and came up with
another check. Put an angle gauge on the pan bottom to rear crossmember
and came up with 60 deg. It's supposed to be 65. Reset the angle gauge
and, guess what. Yep, the rear crossmember winds up 10mm forward.
Here's the kicker. If you index from the front of the spar cap
rather than the spar web, you wind up 10mm forward and everything's
      hunky dory.
Everyone, please check you plans and see where your index point is
indicated. If you ran into this while building and had to rebuild your
way out, please let me know. For those of you who sleep next to your
projects, another check would be the distance from the rear channel to
the Z spar. (Please provide the numbers).
I'm looking at 2 weekends work to correct this mess and want to make
absolutely sure before refabricating a half dozen components.
          Thanks.

      hi list

is it ok to ground the landing and taxi light directly
to the wind spar, or do i need to run a wire to a
      ground bus
thanks in advance. also thanks to all re my question
of putting the lights on the right wing and moving
      them inboard a little

Ground it locally---no need to run a long return.

For simple lighting circuits, grounding to the airframe will work just fine. Put
some No-Ox compound on the connection to prevent corosion.
