Pretty much just followed the directions on the 6-W-4 drawing and built the right triangle 3588, 3605, 355. Did your second wing go much faster than the first? I'm expecting it will. Considering I already have the forms made and my riveting skills down pat I expect to build the second wing in about half the time or less. Plus, while I messed up my first rear spar in the sense that I reversed it so I actually have the left rear spar made so it's really just a matter of making the main spar and the ribs on the existing reverse forms. Should go pretty fast. Probably not going to get a chance to work on anything for about a month or so though. I have a bunch of jobs around the house I have to get out of the way first. http://www.wakefieldtoday.co.uk/news?articleid=2887236 Quotes: The accident was not survivable. The aircraft structure failed as a result of excess loads being applied; the breakage appears to have occurred at the most vulnerable point of the wing." The evidence is incomplete, but the aircraft was probably operating at, or close to, its weight and balance limits. "In May 2005 he bought the light aircraft, the Zenair G-YOXI as a quick build kit from Czech Aircraft Works." "Half of the plane, including the wings and the fuselage, had been pre-constructed in the factory." Just sharing some information with fellow builders in our group here. Forgive me for beating this horse or kicking up a hornet's nest. I am currently working on my 601's wings, and remain confident in the design when operated withing normal parameters. Didn't Zenith cut their ties to CZAW a while back...? Patrick 601XL/Corvair Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=114414#114414

I was there too.... didn't realize that Craig was a frequent poster to the group or I would have harassed him more. Most of the Zeniths in attendance were older designs but the Canadians demonstrated their well known hospitality yet again. I enjoyed talking with Gary Loubert from Sensornetics who is about to unveil a lower cost EFIS and EIS that should give Dynon a run for their money. Is there anyone out there in the Dallas area that would be willing to let me take a look at your completed / almost complete wings? I am having trouble with proper fit of the skins and wing tip. I am working on the right wing, and hope that I do not need to build another... Jon Burns Little Elm, TX 601XL - Tail Complete, working on wings. on eBay for sale: 170115151197 I now have way too many air drills so am selling one of them. This is a nice tight aircraft drill. It is a 5000 rpm model with a nice tease throttle. I have used it and like it but now have one I like better! It would be nice if it found a home in the airplane builders world. Andy, Here is the process I followed so far. Make all the forms first. Made the rudder, Stabilizer, Elevator w/trim tab, Made all the ribs for the Flaps and Ailerons, Form & Skin the flaps, Trim & Form all wing nose ribs, Form & Skin the Aileron, Form & trim all rear wing ribs, Layed out one wing spar web but made two (had them stacked), (Used the spar webs as the drilling template for the spar caps and cap angles, made both wing spars.), Made the Center Spars, Set Dihedral, Form both fuel tanks, Build up the left wing skeleton, Make both left and right top & bottom wing skins, The left wing is on the table and nearing completion. The right one will go a lot faster because much less going on inside it and many of the parts are already made. -------- Ron Lendon, Clinton Township, MI Corvair Zodiac XL, ScrapBuilder ;-) http://www.mykitlog.com/rlendon Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=114480#114480
