The check valve prevents the possibility of fuel transfer from tank to tank and with two fuel pumps there is redundancy in the system. At this time I simply have a DPDT switch which controls both the power to one tank or the other and at the same time controls which fuel sender is read by the gauge. I plan to add a separate switch to be able to run both pumps at once during critical times. I will have a different circuit for this second switch right from the battery and use 2 diodes to prevent feed back between the two circuits. This will give complete redundancy in all things but the battery. Even that would be possible with a second battery and diode arraignment. My local auto supply caries Facet pumps but higher price than Wicks or ACS. Also I just bought 20 ft of the tubing and cut to length. Also when I built the wings I put a disconnect between the wing and fuel selector on both wings so it includes the parts for that also. If you go the metal tube route you will have to get an adapter to go from the bulkhead fitting to the nylon tubing that go to the break cylinders. I have 450 hours on the tach. Everything looked good except for a few items requiring attention. If anyone is interested, here is what I found. 1. New brake pads. I probably could have gone another 6 months, but figured I might as well change them now. This was the first set of pads. The original tires are still fine. 2. There are 2 panels on the aft side fuselage which cover the elevator trim mechanism. On the ground there is good clearance between these panels and an underlying bracket that attaches the trim tabs to the trim tab bellcrank. However, in flight they must be bowing in enough to rub on the bracket and have etched a groove on one side of the bracket. I am going to put in a new bracket and put a 1/8" piece of teflon on the bracket to prevent wear in the future. 3. The front spinner bulkhead had a crack extending from one of the screw holes inward and 1/3 of the way around the bulkhead. I had noticed the last few flights that at some rpm's there was a bit more vibration than I am used to. I am going to replace the bulkhead. Interestingly, I took a flight this morning without the spinner to see how much difference it made. To my surprise I couldn't detect a difference in speed with a quick run at 4500 feet, and CHT's were a bit lower. Even though it looks ugly, I may just fly without a spinner for a while. 4. The throttle cable was not pushing the throttle all the way to the stop at full power. It was a very small gap, but every little bit of power helps. I just adjusted the linkage. That's it. Now I can get back to flying. That's about as fast as you can work anyway. Even if you bought kit sections, the time it takes to build one section you can save up for the next section, so all you need to do is save for the first section just to get started. While you're saving for the first section you can get your workshop in order. Questions ;page 6-B-23 shows 6 turns buckles identified by the letter F and one by the letter E .The parts list shows three AN140 and four AN130 ,which is correct or what should be ordered .I would assume that the 800# and length of 4 1/2" would work . A customer recently posted a comment regarding Aircraft Spruce's handling of orders shipped by the USPS. We want to assure all of our customers that we have made no policy changes regarding USPS packages. Shipments by UPS, DHL, FedEx, etc., leave our building the same day they are packaged due to the fact the carrier picks up late in the day; conversely, the post office is closed by the time USPS packages are completed each day. Therefore, we have to transport USPS packages to the post office the next morning. We appreciate the business we receive from the Zenith builders, and if anyone has any questions or suggestions, please contact us at any time.
