Zenith forgot to address this in the manual. After calling them they recommended springs attached to the firewall. I have heard of making a bellcrank with rods attached to the rudder pedals for a counter-balance so proper tension can be maintained. Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 07:46:32 AM PST US Subject: Zenith-List: Re: Oshkosh or bust? From: "TxDave" What a great looking machine. Put some wings on it and it might fly. Years ago my wife and I rode our bikes from Houston to Austin. It was a real adventure. Good luck on your quest for Oshkosh. A fixed-geometry would prevent excessive wear or damage when standing on the pedals for braking or turning etc. You might have to place the bellcrank forward of the firewall like the nose geared steering is done. I'm trying align the pre-drilled holes with the ribs, one of which isn't perfectly aligned. The problem is the distance to the bend radius. If I read the Construction Standards correctly as long as the rivet hole doesn't intersect the bend radius its considered safe. Can someone verify this or give me a correct interpretation?
