Regarding the taildragger version, someone wrote:

I've often wondered how the nose-dragger model would handle if the
rudder pedal links to the nose wheel were removed, or if the push-
pull rods were replaced with springs (ala C-150) ...
The current setup does make for a relatively heavy rudder pedal feel.
Anyone tried this before?

Subject: | Form blocks question |
Hi, i just finished to cut and refine with the sander the 701 wings form
blocks.
Now, i wish to know what is better: send off the 8 from the border and then
make the crimp conic holes or the opposite?
Thanks
Bye
Bruno.

Check out
http://www.skyhawg.com/petals.html
for a spring loaded implementation on a 701. I don't know if those have
been flown or not. Best check with the builder for actual results. If you
build them, please let us know they work for you.

I don't think it'll make much difference, but I did the crimp holes last.
Have fun....

Craig,
Do you still have this? How much are you willing to part with it for?

Hi Maarten,
I'd be happy to send you pictures of my panel, however I am in OSH as I type this.
When I get home I'll send you some more pics.
I went with the Garmin SL30 for Nav/Com and a Garmin GTX327 for the transponder.
My GPS is an Avmap EKP IV. The hole in the panel is for the Dynon AP76 autopilot
module. The Dynon equipment in the picture is an HS34, Flightdeck D180,
and EFIS D100.
Regards,
Ken Pavlou

Subject: | horizontal stabilizer skin |
So I am at that point where i'm attempting to fit my pre-drilled skin to the skeleton
( front/rear spar and 6 ribs)...
I could have swore that I read about this last month.. but can't seem to find it
in the archives.. So I'm basically having trouble lining up all the holes.
I did find that towards the outside of the stabilizer, the two spars are drawn
in, closer to each other (by about 4mm or so if i remember correctly) -- due
to ribs 1 & 6 not having a spar doubler underneath it.
I have followed the directions closely -- there is no shim to go underneath these
ribs.. how have you dealt with this? when looking at the edge of the skin
laying on the spar, its clear that the spar bows outwards in the center. do
i straighten out the spar somehow? how? or do i just like up the two holes
at either end of the spar.. clamp.. and start drilling?

Craig
After you finish your test flights, please let us know what stall speed you
determined for your 601 w/o flaps. Are you taping or covering the gap at
the top of the flaps? Also, the effect of your fairings on the stall speed
would be very interesting. If you can meet LSA stall requirements (<= 51
mph cas) with fairings but no flaps, that would be terrific.
