Then I put in the crimp holes. This allowed me to see the radius so I didn't put them into the radius. The bearing takes up the load produced by the bungee and allows the rudder to move freely. For details, go to http://utdallas.edu/~klaus/Airplane/nose_gear_thrust_bearing.html Replacing the pushrods by springs may not be advisable since the nosegear has little caster and thus likes to swivel when the tire hits imperfections on the runway. As it is, directional control on takeoff is difficult enough, at least for my plane.
