We installed a Becker Transponder for the same reason as you - we had
minimal panel space and depth behind panel available. It was expensive.
However, from the first day, it has worked flawlessly, and is very easy to
operate. We have steam gauges, not a Dynon, to go with it, however.

Ken, quick question. Looking at the bottom of your cowling. That sure looks like
an awful lot of #30 clecos.

      Gig,

I just wanted to make sure the cowl was securely fastened so it doesn't go anywhere.
Just kidding, what you see is an optical illusion. The clecos you see
are the four clecos that hold the bottom cowl cowl piece to the fiberglass nosebowl
and the rest of the clecos that are along the bottom hinge line. I posted
      a better pic below.

mine and those little fellows are expensive.

| Subject: | A couple questions about the 650 or XL |

      Dear community,

I doing my due diligence and research before my first homebuilt purchase, and a
Zodiac is on the very top of my list. I appreciate all the knowledge you all
have given me through this forum. I have a couple questions if anyone knows
      the answer...

      1) Do you know if the 650 will have a quickbuild kit anytime soon? If not, would
it be better to go with the XL and 650 updates? or maybe just slow build 650?

      2) From what I have read, this is a very sensitive subject, but I am naive and
this concerns me very much; what is the current status of the wing problems and
independent researcher I have seen mentioned on this forum? Maybe if somebody
can elaborate on whats happening with that. I have searched many times on this
site trying to learn what I can, but it is sporadic and tough to put all together.

      3) Would these structural issues translate to the 650?

Thank you all for the help, I look forward to working with you all as I begin my
project and look forward to contributing.
