Congratulations Lynn! That first flight has to go down as one of the most heart
pounding, adrenaline rushing experiences ever... unless you do test flights
for a living 8) That heaviness seems to be fairly common as mine is also very
heavy, yet well within the CG. I talked to Scott L. awhile back and he said
his stabilizer was down in front and up in back and now flies hands-off. I'm
looking forward to that day, although he does have about 30 lbs back in the
baggage area as well. Again congratulations.

Zenith 601 XL / Corvair N4ZK made it's maiden voyage tonight. It has

up, and required me to throttle back to arrest the trend after a while.
This plane is fast and smooth, and my single landing so far was easy.
High idle speed carried me a ways down the runway, and that will be addr

burning off some of those pesky Phase one hours. I'll share more as I g

Hi Dave,
You might want to get in touch with Rick Lindstrom (tigerrick at the following
ISP mindspring.com, you'll need to figure out the address from what is written)
who I believe is in California. Also, try some of the other lists such as the
701 or 601 specific lists... someone there might be able to help.
I wish I were closer. It sounds like a lot of fun.

If you have a catalog or go online at www.vansaircraft.com its on pg 80.

The nut pushes on the sleeve, which in turn pushes on the flare, so it's
the large end that goes toward the flare.

Hi Greg;
Zenith will sell you a quart. Then take it to your local paint
supplier and have them tint it to the color you want. FWIW I found that the
material as supplied is to thick to get a thin coat when brushing it onto
parts. I thinned mine with denatured alchohol 3 to 1. I found this gave me
the
film thickness required.

Hi John,
Thanks for the reply, do you know what they would use to tint the
primer?
Would it be an enamel or acrylic tint?
