To put it simply, a trim ring? I'm installing used Cessna gauges that back mount and no matter how close the cut, you wind up with an ugly area around the ring that shows through the panel. Truth be told, I got heavy handed with my file. I know, I know, this is purely cosmetic but I have to stare at the panel for a long time and if there's a way of cleaning things up I can buy off the shelf, I'll do it. If not, I'll fabricate something. Bill Naumuk Townville, Pa. The panel is painted with RustOleum "Hammered" finish paint. The circuit breaker panel will come out with 4 screws for service. The eyeball vents are the ~$56 ones from ACS. One reason they are cheaper than all those $100+ versions is that you have to supply the collar for the air hose to attache to. -------- W.R. Clamp piece of metal to plywood, clamp plywood to drill press. Cut inner hole the size of gage o.d. Reset cutter larger and gently cut the bezel. Make sure to keep the center pilot tight. I use a dowel pin for the center of my fly cutter. Clean off the burrs and glue in place. -------- Ron Lendon, Clinton Township, MI WW Corvair with Roy's Garage 5th bearing Zodiac XL, ScrapBuilder ;-) http://www.mykitlog.com/rlendon Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=220489#220489 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Other Matronics Email List Services ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Post A New Message zenith-list@matronics.com UN/SUBSCRIBE http://www.matronics.com/subscription List FAQ http://www.matronics.com/FAQ/Zenith-List.htm Web Forum Interface To Lists http://forums.matronics.com Matronics List Wiki http://wiki.matronics.com Full Archive Search Engine http://www.matronics.com/search 7-Day List Browse http://www.matronics.com/browse/zenith-list Browse Digests http://www.matronics.com/digest/zenith-list Browse Other Lists http://www.matronics.com/browse Live Online Chat! http://www.matronics.com/chat Archive Downloading http://www.matronics.com/archives Photo Share http://www.matronics.com/photoshare Other Email Lists http://www.matronics.com/emaillists Contributions http://www.matronics.com/contribution ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These Email List Services are sponsored solely by Matronics and through the generous Contributions of its members.
