As for advice, I have been racing motorcycles for a little over 30 years and I still do not have a street license, I just don't feel safe riding on the road! And that brings me to my point. Most of the people out there driving cars, are half asleep or thinking about anything but what they are doing. Practice, practice practice, before you go out on the roads. Be very aware, even behind you. Have fun, bikes are a hoot! I took one in Illinois years ago when I was in college. Look them up on the web. Most, if not all, states allow graduation from these courses to substitute for the riding exam at the BMV station. Good luck and use a good helmet and riding gear. do not archive -------- David Gallagher 601 XL/Jabiru 3300 First flight 7/24/08 54 hours and climbing! Based on that (harrowing) experience, I will posit that, if a motorcycle safety course is available in your area, you should take it. Ihab do not archive -- Ihab A.B. The wings of my first XL were also closed when I bought it. The tip was accessible but I was worried about retaining the wires running back to the wing root through the lightning holes. I thought about clamping some lightweight tube at both ends (and possibly in the middle through an inspection hole) but never implemented the idea.
