Subject: | Priming Of Fuel Tank And Enclosure |
I recall reading a couple of posts in the past from builders who had
problems with their fuel tanks corroding through due to moisture between the
LE skin and tank. Therefore I was planning to prime the outside of my fuel
tanks and the inside of the fuel tank enclosures in the LEs of the wings. I
am using PTI zinc chromate primer on my airframe. Has anyone else done
this, and if so, did you have any issues with adequate adhesion of the
sticky-backed cork strips to the primed surfaces of the fuel tank?
Thanks,
Dave Van Lanen
