You could install the rear of the seat pan on a hinge and have an adjustable seat height with two or three mating hinge halves mounted on the rear seat support. I have seen it done this way somewhere but I had already done mine and have not tried it myself yet. Inserting the hinge pin may be easier if it is done thru an access hole in the center console from the other passenger bay since the console is in the way to insert a long straight hinge pin. I'm the industry average 5' 10". What height would work best? I'm 6'1" and went for the 10 mm on both sides. Then for whichever seat pan where someone shorter is sitting, I made an up to 2" (?) thick filler piece sculpted to the curve of the pan, made out of hard insulation board foam. It's light weight and won't compress, unlike if one just stuffs cushions in or puts in extra layers of heavy Confor foam. The upholstered seat pan foam then can either sit down in the pan or on top of the filler piece. My dad and I also bought Peltor headsets, which don't have thick cushions on top or big adjustment slides sticking up above the ear cups. That's handy for extra head room, especially if one leans outboard, head against the canopy, to get a better view past the nose, such as when the nose is high in the flare. From: "Darryl Legg" <dlegg@tpg.com.au>
Hi All, Have just installed aileron trim to left aileron, following plans, but supplied parts were different, resulting in trim tab being longer than aileron by 10mm. Is this a problem or not? Hoping not.......... Darryl. [Rolling Eyes] Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=238881#238881

Hi Darryl, the trim tab has to be even with the trailing edge of aileron. You have to make the cut out deeper into the aileron to make it fit. -------- Pavel CA Zodiac XL N581PL (Reserved) Stratus Subaru EA-81 Tail, flaps, ailerons, wings done, fuselage is on the table .... The Ercoupe seat pan was attached with a hinge. It is good to have access to the area under the pan. Sooner or later, small objects will slip thru the gaps on the side of the pan. Dirt accumulates under there, too. Ercoupe experience speaking. It would be best to use an extruded hinge, since downward crash loads might fail the rolled tangs on the hinge that Zenith supplies. You need to buy a "Rivet cutter" and cut those rivets down with some experimenting. I use solid rivets to install nutplates, and have to cut those little rivets down halfway between what ZAC sent and what I bought from ACS.
